Where to Stay in Ronda: The Single Best Spot for Views of the Bridge

If you’re wondering where to stay in Ronda, look no further. Ronda’s remarkable bridge, the majestic Puente Nuevo, is a must-see on any Andalusian road trip. And I have the perfect place for you to stay to get the best views of the bridge!

Puente Nuevo Bridge in Ronda

The iconic sight of the Puente Nuevo bridge draws countless visitors to Ronda. This small hilltop village is one of Andalusia’s famed Pueblos Blancos, a patchwork of whitewashed villages in Southern Spain

Built in the late 1700s, Ronda’s bridge spans across the entire El Tajo gorge. It’s one of the highest bridges in Spain, at a staggering 328ft (almost 100 metres) tall! You can walk across the bridge to get from one side of Ronda to the other, as well as walk down into the gorge itself.

Most viewpoints of the bridge get a little crowded during the day, especially as Ronda is a popular day trip destination from nearby Seville and Málaga. Also, many viewpoints from above (as opposed to walking down into the gorge) look over the bridge from the side, rather than face on.

So, although there are various viewpoints of the bridge in Ronda, my advice is to book accommodation overlooking the bridge, guaranteeing an uncrowded, private view!

To get the best view of Puente Nuevo bridge, book a stay at Casa Duende del Tajo, Ronda, Spain. The rooms are basic and comfortable, in a traditional Spanish style. Rooms are private with shared bathrooms and a large shared kitchen area.

Ronda is small, but it’s beautiful and definitely worth staying a night or two (or longer if you’re looking to do some hiking in the area). Read my separate guide on what to do in Ronda.

I enjoyed staying the night in Ronda because instead of rushing to see the bridge, I was able to just relax and enjoy the view from the terrace of my room.

We went to the local supermarket and got lots of Spanish picky bits like olives, jamón and salmorejo, with a bottle of wine, to bring back to the room and enjoy on the terrace. Ronda’s bridge is lit up at night, which is beautiful.
